Social Division in Iraq: Ahl al-Shiqāq wa-l-Nifāq?
- - June 10, 2020
Contributing to Mehran Kamrava’s Routledge Handbook of Persian Gulf Politics, Senior Research Fellow Fanar Haddad writes about social divisions in Iraq. The book seeks to demonstrate how the Persian Gulf’s current, complex politics is a product of interwoven dynamics rooted in historical developments, profound social, cultural, and economic changes, and inter-state and international relations among both regional actors and between them and the rest of the world.
