Speaking on CNBC, MEI Principal Research Fellow Alessandro Arduino says that the uncertainty resulting from the assassination of Iranian General Soleimani, while unlikely to escalate into a full conflict unless further US provocation occurs, is dangerous for China, given its fraught relationship with the US in the aftermath of the trade war and the important role Iran plays in China’s economic plans in the region.
