Iran — Going Nuclear, Again

In an interview with BFM 89.9, MEI Senior Fellow Professor James Dorsey says that Iran’s recent move to resume uranium enrichment at its underground Fordow nuclear site is a response to the US’ withdrawal from the 2015 Nuclear Accords and their maximum pressure campaign, and an effort to force the US back to the negotiating table by raising the stakes. In his opinion, the better move for Iran would be to appeal to Russia and China, two countries without free markets, and not Europe, but ultimately the situation can only be resolved with a face-saving measure for both sides.
