Phua Kok Keong

Mr Puah Kok Keong has been the Deputy Secretary (Policy) at the Ministry of Home Affairs since August 2016. The issues he oversees include policy, planning, international cooperation, research & statistics, legal, and psychological services.

Mr Puah started his career as an economist in the Ministry of Trade and Industry in 2002, and was the Deputy Director of Energy Policy in 2007. He joined the Ministry of Health in 2008 as Deputy Director of Primary and Community Care, and later was Director of Governance and Planning in 2010. He was the Director for Fiscal Policy at the Ministry of Finance from 2011 to 2015.

Mr Puah is the Deputy Chairman of the Yellow Ribbon Singapore and sits on the board of the Casino Regulatory Authority and the National Environment Agency.

Mr Puah received his Master’s degree and Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2000. He also received a Master’s degree in Management Science from Stanford University in 2016.
