In conjunction with the launch of Salafism in Lebanon: Local and Transnational Movements by Dr Zoltan Pall published by Cambridge University Press, the NUS Middle East Institute organised a book launch and fireside discussion on Salafism and its impact on Middle East and Southeast Asia.
The author shared important findings in the book as well as the extension of his research work on the Salafis which has brought him to Southeast Asia. The discussion included inputs from MEI Chairman and Ambassador-At-Large, Bilahari Kausikan, and Visiting MEI Professor, Maarten Bruinessen, an Emeritus Professor at University of Utrecht Religious Studies Department.
