Abstract

National security expert Ali Soufan’s lecture covered the developing threats and new trends he sees emerging out of the events in Syria, Egypt, Libya, Mali, and beyond, and where this leaves al Qaeda and the related threats. He outlined one of the key tools necessary for experts to best anticipate and stay ahead of the threats, namely imagination, which is critical to use right. He concluded by introducing a new doctrine for policy-makers to use when dealing with these new threats.
