Doron Bergerbest-Eilon is an Expert in Risk Management, National Security, Geopolitics, Cybersecurity, and Critical Infrastructure Protection

Doron Bergerbest‑Eilon is a globally recognised authority in homeland security, critical infrastructure protection, geopolitical risk, and cybersecurity, with over four decades of senior leadership spanning Israel’s public sector and international private-sector consulting.

He served as Director of Protection and Security for the State of Israel, appointed by Ariel Sharon, holding a rank equivalent to Major General. In this capacity, he was responsible for securing Israel’s international and domestic border crossings, civil aviation (including foreign carriers), maritime assets, and critical transportation infrastructure, while overseeing Israeli security operations abroad. He also directed protection for Israel’s Prime Minister, President, senior ministers, and visiting foreign dignitaries. His tenure coincided with the Second Intifada, requiring innovative responses to sustained terrorism threats targeting aviation, borders, and national infrastructure.

Widely regarded as a pioneer of Israel’s national cyber defense discipline, Mr Bergerbest-Eilon led the integration of cyber risk into national security and infrastructure resilience strategies well before global adoption. He established and led two foundational national bodies: the Authority for the Protection of State Information and the Authority for Cyber Defence, safeguarding sectors including energy, transportation, healthcare, and water.

Following his public service career, he founded ASERO Worldwide, an international consulting and training firm specialising in risk management, cybersecurity, transportation and border security, organizational resilience, and national preparedness. He also co-founded Aperio, a cybersecurity and data protection company focused on operational technology and critical infrastructure. Since 2006, he has served on the Security Advisory Board of Pictet Asset Management, providing geopolitical and security risk advisory for major global investment portfolios, while continuing to advise senior corporate and institutional leaders worldwide.
