Victor Kattan Comments on Trump’s Latest Syrian Dilemma

On April 7th, a chemical attack was carried out in the Syrian city of Douma. Moscow and Washington went toe-to-toe with each other in the U.N. Security Council regarding a chemical weapons probe. Russia and Syria have claimed that there was no evidence that a gas attack had taken place but were willing to work with the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) for further investigations. One week later, the US, along with France and UK launched missiles at Syria, a surely bellicose move against the Russan-backed Assad regime. Today, Senior Research Fellow Victor Kattan spoke to Bloomberg to give his thoughts on how Russia and Iran might respond to this. He also discussed the legality of these strikes and the international response to this development.
